Melissa Kretschmer / Russell Maltz: Plywood

MINUS SPACE is delighted to present the two-person exhibition Melissa Kretschmer / Russell Maltz: Plywood. The exhibition will highlight new paintings, sculpture, and installation works made on or of the engineered construction material plywood. Both Kretschmer and Maltz have employed the material in their respective work for decades and they possess an acute sensitivity to its unique characteristics.

By the late 1970s, the term "sculpture" had come to include all manner of events (actions and performances), materials (plastics, resins, rubbers, etc.), media (photography, film, video and electronics) and modes of presentation (site-specific installations, street works, documentation, etc.). "Sculpture" as a term had been transformed into the catchall and as a discipline it no longer had an identity of its own.

Ted Stamm: Paintings

MINUS SPACE is delighted to present the exhibition Ted Stamm: Paintings, an overview of paintings, works on paper, street interventions, and other materials by the late NYC-based abstract painter. Prior to his unexpected death from heart failure in 1984, Stamm created a substantial, mature body of work that was at once responsive to the past, indicative of his time, and prescient of the future.
