This winter Brooklyn painter and writer Stephen Maine sat down with artist Linda Francis to discuss her involvement in the fields of new music and performance within the greater context of her painting practice.

Their conceptual fodder ranges from sports to math and science to film, graphic design and video.
Organized by artists Matthew Deleget (New York) and Emi Winter (Oaxaca), the exhibition MINUS SPACE en Oaxaca: Panorama de 31 artistas internacionales features 31 reductive artists from around the world associated with MINUS SPACE in Brooklyn, New York.
Grid List presents 16 artists, 13 working in geometric abstraction, and three working quite “gridless” (Can the grid be active behind the image?). Their conceptual fodder ranges from sports, math, science, film, graphic design and video games.
A Romance of Many Dimensions is comprised of nine artists/painters who share at least two things: their work expands the idea of dimensionality past the exactitude of two and three- dimensional space, and, they have had all been interviewed by Brent Hallard.

MINUS SPACE is honored to announce the memorial exhibition Julian Dashper (1960-2009): It Is Life. The exhibition marks the one-year anniversary of the New Zealand artist's death and it will feature a single work by Julian entitled Future Call, as well as written tributes to him by more than 70 artists internationally.

MINUS SPACE is delighted to announce the group exhibition Escape from New York at The Engine Room, Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand, from April 22 - May 8, 2010. Curated by Matthew Deleget, the exhibition surveys reductive strategies by 29 artists living in and around New York City. Each artist will present a single small work, as well as an open letter to the local community of artists.

Our third VIEWLIST exhibition is conceived by New York painter Karen Schifano.
The word “inspire” (originally meaning “to infuse with breath”) is a verb, but can also transform itself into a noun or adjective. It’s very active, and yet also implies being receptive, even demands openness, a readiness to receive, and a sharpening of perception and awareness. From one thing, there is a direct connection to another thing, a kind of touch that is nurturing, rich and full of promise. Potential becomes realization; we wake up rejuvenated, re-energized, and ready for action.
