STATEMENT
My paintings engage familiar tropes of geometric painting and supergraphics—dots, stripes, sine curves, and systematic progressions—often taking them to extremes of physical practice. A series of dizzying spiral paintings of dots requires such a great deal of time and effort to produce, I look at them as Herculean tasks. I do, however, find as much work as play in their creation.
My most recent work continues to reference the techniques of colorfield painting, logocentric design and spherical transcendental configurations, taking pure opticality, minimalism and geometric sequence to a logical and overwhelming conclusion.
