Dear Gabriele. I got the MINUS SPACE page of your work. I like your paintings very much. I have been a member of the American Abstract Artists for a long time. I have also been teaching color theory at the School of Visual Arts. This is the first time color theory was offered by SVA. Good luck with your show. Vito Giacalone

"…it may take a year of preparation to execute a single and instantaneous brushstroke." The above painting took 50 years to make. See how all those marks look like they were made with the same loaded brush in about 45 seconds, maybe without looking, maybe while talking on the phone or watching TV, just poking the back of a framed panel with a bristle brush? Nope. See, there is all this rigor there your eyes and mind can't possibly grasp.

In this motorcycle photo the shadow of the building comes down menacingly with the same gesture as the late black paintings. There's a fatalistic irony in those shadows. Lucinda Piersol

How excited we are to see the renewed interest in Ted Stamm's life and art. We had the pleasure of knowing Ted personally for many years. As an interesting aside, being Ted's dentist for many years, upon his wishes and insistence, when a porcelain crown was made for a lower back molar, half the tooth was black and the other half white. When the procedure was complete, Ted was thrilled. He promised this unusual crown would be our secret.

We have several of Ted's paintings in our collection. No doubt our name must be entered in Ted's documents. He was meticulous about who had his paintings and how they were to be shown.

So many years have passed without continued interest in Ted's short but brilliant career. We are so happy that you are exploring his genius. We look forward to seeing his show at your gallery. If we can be of any further assistance, please contact us.

This looks kind of like an instagram image from a mobile phone. Not that interesting. I think my minimal 'drained' photograph is much more emotive but minimal and calming. What do you think?

Great post. I am a big fan of the artist FOOX. Speaking of collaborations, he did one with the Sanctuary Hotel. It's like a Schrager-esque type of hotel but very supportive of the arts and fine art in particular. http://www.blackbookmag.com/article/new-york-preview-sanctuary-hotel/26360
