A New Book of Poetry & Images
by Gerald Jonas & Sanford Wurmfeld
Please join us for a special reception, reading & book signing:
Friday, May 4, 5-8pm
Short reading at 7pm
Gerald Jonas, who was on the staff of The New Yorker for 30 years, is a poet, editor and writer. The poems in this book began with a question: Who can speak for the dead?
Sanford Wurmfeld is a painter and the Caroff Professor of Fine Art at Hunter College. His images in the book were scanned from a series of watercolors that were made by layering washes of primary colors: cyan, magenta, yellow or black. Wurmfeld’s original watercolors will be on view at the gallery.
The paintings and poetry in Epitaphs, created independently by first cousins, came to speak to each other on the page in unexpected ways.
Epitaphs will be available at the reception for a special discounted price of $30. It is also available online at MINUS SPACE for $40.
