(v)=variable presents a collaboration with Jim Nolan as the first in a series of works addressing the re-use and reconfiguration of pre-existing architectural structures as temporary “exhibition” spaces. (v)=variable also seeks to blur the boundaries/roles between curator, artist, community and collector.

(v)=variable is a project generated by Houston artist Mick Johnson. Mick is affiliated with Minus Space in Brooklyn, NY and has shown his work at PS1 Contemporary Art Center and at various Houston sites including Diverseworks Artspace. Jim Nolan is a recent transplant from New York City and is currently showing his work at Deep Space New York. They have both shown at Lawndale Art Center in Houston.

(v)=variable is being funded in 2010 by the Idea Fund, a re-granting program administered through Aurora Picture Show, Diverseworks Artspace, and Project Row Houses, and funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. You can find us on Facebook.
