He often told the story that a student reconfigured the maxim and wrote, "the unlived life is not worth examining." who is to say we cannot add to the flora and fauna of our history? thank you for what you do... just a thought and a true tale: an old history teacher of mine would have his students write the notable socratic maxim, “the unexamined life is not worth living” in their first exam each time he taught his favored course.
